World Cup 2018: Most valuable squads
With a few exceptions, the world's best, and most valuable players will be in Russia for the next month, their reported combined transfer fee value a staggering 12.6 billion Euros.
This is according to the Football-Observatory website, which has calculated the current value of all the players at the World Cup with the following method:
"The valuations refer to the fair price that the most likely buyer clubs should pay to sign the players. The sporting performance of both the footballers themselves and their clubs of belonging are included in the algorithm. In addition, other variables such as age and contract duration are taken into account, as detailed in the following research note."
According to their findings, the star-studded France squad head the list, with a combined value of 1.41 billion Euros for their 23 players.
PSG striker Kylian Mbappe is France's most expensively-rated player at 187 million Euros.
The England squad is next on the team list, with a combined valuation of 1.386 billion Euros, while Tottenham striker Harry Kane is currently rated at the most expensive player in the world, should Spurs cash in on him, at 201 million Euros.
Brazil come in third, at 1.269 billion Euros, with PSG striker Neymar estimated to be worth 196 million Euros.
Making up the top five are Spain (965 million Euros) and Argentina (925 million Euros). Argentina forward Lionel Messi is valued at 184 million Euros.
Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Uruguay and Croatia also all crack the top 10.
At the other end of the scale the Panama squad are valued lowest, at just 15 million Euros, with Saudi Arabia coming in at 21 million Euros, and Iran at 40.
Other notable player ratings include Mohamed Salah (171 million Euros) Kevin de Bruyne (167 million Euros), Cristiano Ronaldo (103 million Euros), Luis Suarez (120 million Euros), Saul Niguez (101 million Euros), Christian Eriksen (106 million Euros), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (101 million Euros) and Heung-min Song at 90 million Euros.
Senegal are Africa's highest valued team, with a combined total of 320 million Euros putting them 12th on the list, 92 million attributed to Sadio Mane.
Egypt are 17th on the 32 team ranking system, with Salah's figure of 171 million Euros representing 74 percent of their total amount of 232 million Euros.
Nigeria are just behind in 18th spot (192 million Euros), with Wilfred Ndidi rated top at 63 million Euros. Morocco are 21st with a value of 138 million Euros, with Tunisia in 27th position - 58 million Euros.
